Contentment Poem by CHARLES BAILEY

Contentment

Rating: 4.0

My mind is at peace when I am with you
Within your arms, my spirit is renewed
Holding you close and feeling your breath
Upon my face, gives my soul rest

The beauty of your eyes brings contentment to me
The softness of your lips, I cannot believe
My heart is full of gladness with the thought of you
Just your presence in my world, starts my life anew

I will always cherish you; I will be kind and true
I promise never to hurt you or turn your world to blue
I will always keep my promise, throughout eternity
All I ask in return, is don't give up on me.

If I should ever lose you, my world would end that day
My soul, mind and spirit, would all be swept away
The shell that is left to walk this earth, would do so in vain
I would follow the Devil into hell to have you back again
