Contentment

Opus 5

An unseen world that beckons me,
Beyond a pale-green door.
A kind of nether world that's free,
From hatred, lust, and war.

It's not too far away from here.
It's just beyond the glen.
And reaching for it isn't dear,
So share it with a friend.

It's lime-green accents comfort me,
And tell me all is whole.
It's stand of evergreens and trees,
Speak volumes to my soul.

Renewal's there among the rocks.
Contentment, peace and love.
And the balance of eternal clocks,
Flows sweetly from above.

There's wisdom in this wondrous place,
That's not so hard to see.
That down the road, just past the glade,
-Lies our eternity.

I wondered, then, why all these years,
It was so hard to find.
Until the sweetness of my tears,
Put this upon my mind.

No finite place makes one content.
It's not from rock or rill.
It comes from time that's often spent,
With those who test our will.

They show us true contentment lies,
Within a loving heart.
And finding comfort thus implies,
It's with us from the start.
