Conversation Tree

Your secrets are forever safe with me
With open conversations like these
A snapping branch could bring things crashing down
But we listen to each other over the rustling surround

Driven by the things carved into its bark
Striven by the things that have left their mark
Wanting to make amends
And no longer feel reticent again

Within the shady canopy, light sometimes peeks through
And you will know that I’m daydreaming too
Sitting under your conversation tree
And for the first time you’ll see

What was so hard to explain
And then you can go on again
So keep daydreaming in your place - and me in mine
The Conversation Tree gave us time
