Conversations With God Poem by Moth Harris

Conversations With God

I asked god why he gets to be so blessed.
Simply he smiled 'because I'm better than all the rest, '
I felt my heart dropp to the darkest part of my chest,
Have I lost my faith again?

I've asked you for a few simple things here and there,
Warmth, food, somebody who'd care.
I'm so cold, I'm starving, sitting alone in my chair.
I asked god if he thought that this was fair.

Simply he smiled 'fair it is, because one day you'll see,
that it's not up to me, it's up to you,
and everything that you go through will pay off in the end,
When you get to heaven you'll call me your friend.'
