Conversations Poem by Michael Caldararo

Conversations

An angel of dark and an angel of light
Together met on some distant site.
Although they each knew they would never agree
They spoke of the earth and how it should be.

Each angel knew there were souls that would fill
Their visions for people each using free will.
They spoke of the good and they spoke of the bad.
They spoke of how easily people got mad.

They talked about peace and they talked about war
They discussed how people always wanted far more.
It was easy to see they both had successes
But each had their own disappointing regresses.

The angel of dark knew his ideas could work
If he could replace the good with some murk.
It wouldn’t be easy, not probable at all
The angel of light would have to totally fall.

The angel of light had an idea of his own
It would take special people and they’d have to be shown.
How to think with their heart as well as their mind
He decided to try and these people he would find.

The conversations went well and angels took flight
They each bounded off only one toward the light.
The choices seem easy, but for some it’s not so
Don’t reach for the dark it’s to the light we must go.
