You may have been
just a dog to some people
but to me, Cochise
you were so much more

you were a friend
when I was all alone
you were there for me
when I needed it most

some people may say
you couldn't talk
but some how
we understood each other

you always knew
when I needed to talk
you could cheer me up
just by licking my face

you were the best dog
and nothing will change that
no matter how many dogs
come into my life

and no matter
how many boxers I see
none will take your place
I love you Cheesy, forever!

There is grief in the sound, there is guilt in the fame;
But the tear that now burns on my cheek may impart
