Could I Say Goodbye Poem by Kevin East

Could I Say Goodbye

Could I say goodbye
To the stars and moon.
That lit her face
With heavenly tune.
Playing
Swaying
In our joy.

Would my heart allow
One final birdsong
From the highest bough
Of the tallest tree
Kissed by the sun.
The dawn cannot be undone.

And that lonely sunset
Painted in our sky,
Means
As our souls embrace on high.
I could never say goodbye.
