Covered Poem by Daniel Wittfoth

Covered

I am cold
ice
From inside
out

Numb
untouchable
Restless
lost without heart

Mindless
as winds begin to blow
Swept up
swallowed in the rain
Silent
within the anger and sorrow
Desperate
unknowing how to respond

I remember it all
like moments ago
That sudden sound
blood splattered on the wall

Sirens in the distance
my love lying on the floor
covered......
