Craters Of The Moon Poem by gershon hepner

Craters Of The Moon

The craters of the moon remain
for all to see with telescopes,
but most of those on earth attain
oblivion, and dash the hopes
of scientists who wish to find
a record of collisions like
the ones moon’s craters all attest,
the impact of each comet’s strike
on earth erased because earth rests
upon tectonic plates that move,
as I, too, rest my moving plates
on china slow boats on a groove
where fate rewrites what love dictates.
