Creation In Tears Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Creation In Tears

A sparrow told me yesterday
“How sad it is with man
Because through sin you went astray
And ruined The Father’s plan

To us no sickness should have come
No creature had to die
Because you humans acted dumb
Now all that breathes must cry

When man from Eden had to leave
We creatures had so too
From then all life has had to grieve
For a disobedient two

Why can’t you start becoming wise?
Sing now a different song
Observe yourselves open your eyes
And see that something’s wrong”

A squirrel said “We too were cursed
Before a human stood
Before you came God made us first
And saw His work was good

Repent! Come now and change your tune
Begin to love and see
You’ll know yourselves we’ve come to ruin
Because man can’t agree

Because of man this world was made
For man we were prepared
Nothing on earth was meant to fade
But all joyfully shared

No one should fight nothing should kill
Nothing should ever fail”
That’s when he took off down hill
Wagging his little tail…………
