There is a place that only we know
Where beauty is skewed
Where dew is salty
From our skin

There is a place
Where motionless waves
Cascade over the soft land
And reflect red with the flames
Of an off shore candle

There is a place
Where you are my only desire
As you swim against me
Creating our own current
Under the crimson sea

You are my breath of fresh air
In this dark
Hot, ocean
Where I’m only safe in your arms

Surely if I were in this ocean
Without your security
I’d drown
Amongst red, satin waves

Until we leave this sea
We are one
We are content
And we love one another
In our crimson sea
Of bed sheets.
