Cross The Line Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Cross The Line

you didn't have me at hello
As persuasive as you were
I wasn't interested in
What it was you were selling
Built a wall, shut myself off
Feeling nothing emotionally
One nights full of passion
brought a lifetime of pain
A players code is to never
say those magic words as you
Put the moves on my heart
the moment you said, I love you
it would leave me wide open
and I don't want to be hurt again
but it was foolish to let you in
Later you'll come to understand
when you play with someone's heart
and you tear their whole world apart
You'll live to regret
the day that we've met
I ain't nothing like them others
you ran your immature play on
but the real game begins
the minute you hurt me
Once you cross the line to love
Disappoint me and betray my trust
I'd fully succumb to the hate
developing from deep inside
You won't make it out alive
