Crossfire Poem by Asma Khan

Crossfire

I escape the dark clouds
of miserable memories every night
and put my head over the
pillow of future's fright

The time stands still on
my palm with shiny doubts
flashes of an unknown fear
whispers at me and flouts

And so let me explain all
that past to my soul
for there is no one here but
myself to console

The return of silence in my
speech was not reasonless
though your absence in life
suddenly grew meaningless

The rain gathered on moon's
face washing it's grieves
such a desire comes to awaken
the heart but never leaves
