Crossroads Of Life Poem by Eric The Viking

Crossroads Of Life

Through the dark I’m told you can see a light
A candles glow that can seem so bright
Her spirit faltered for its weak
The murky waters are often bleak
And the days brought pain, filled with spite
Crushing her will to create such fright

The vessel that’s damaged on its way
The scream that’s silenced with no words to say
For the fruits you seek, a poisoned pay
And the devils hand you will surely play

Her whisper falls on deafly ears
Her torment that followed for many years
The roads traveled have paid their dues
Once at a fork, one must choose
A choice that bares its weight in gold
A tight grasp is needed for the life ahold

The misfortunes woven are forever burned
The life lessons gained are lessons learned
My how the weak are easily distorted
Her strength within to be exhorted

Let you not forget from where you came
But let you lose that which you shame
No more am I to play the fool
Let my life be mine for which to rule

The last stanza does make sense. I prefer poetry that is condensed into what I call droplets of suggestion. In many words there is disorder. An edited phrase is a well turned phrase. That last line may be called a well turned phrase. Adeline
