Cruel, Cruel World [flip-Side][dark][reality] Poem by R.K. Cowles

Cruel, Cruel World [flip-Side][dark][reality]

I hear republicans lie
Democrats too
When will we learn
To vote for someone new
I think to myself
We're totally confused

I see working class
work off their butts
Their cash taken
And given to the rich
I think to myself
What a cruel government

I see menuevers of planes
So pretty in the sky
Soon they'll dropp bombs
Where we have our homes
I think to myself
What a screwed up world

Children playing hop-scotch
On the walks
Someone been drinking
Driving on the walks
I think to myself
Who gave them the drinks

I see kids playing
And being kids
To some you prey
They're objects
I think to myself
What a perverted world

I see bullies fight
With half their size
Because they're weak
They take advantage
I think to myself
What a cruel, cruel world

I see workers work hard
To get to the top
Eventually their jobs
Sent over seas
I think to myself
Such cruel, greedy rich

All the monks
So lovingly to the guests
Only to be beaten
Taken from their homes
I think to myself
Why there's so much hate

I see white robed freaks
And shaved heads too
Judging you by your skin
Not by your heart
I think to myself
What a hateful world

I see bullets flying
Big missles too
Falling on people
That they don't know
I think to myself
What a senseless war

I hear politicians promise
Yet no results
One screw up
Right after another
I think to myself
What a cruel, cruel world
