Cruelty Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Cruelty

Where does sheer cruelty come from?
It engulfs the soul with its darkness,
A malevolence that soon becomes
A gripping force of wickedness.

Beyond reason and human logic,
A driving urge to harm and destroy-
A diabolic condition that's so tragic:
Corrupting the heart that it employs.

Repulsive in every word and form
Cruelty's a vile disease that claims
It own possessor who eventually deforms
Warped in a viciousness that maims.

His own devastation and inner decay
Spells a turmoil and nagging torment.
A future dimmed, a life thrown away
So cursed in its hellish predicament.

A good piece, well articulated and written with conviction to capture the essence of the poem. I wonder why some individuals are not capable to come to terms with the potential for evil they contain. A lovely poem indeed. Keep writing and thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
