Crush Poem by Michael Spinelli

Crush

Rating: 5.0

I won’t let this speak of love
Or deathly yearnings, savor sweet
Or lusty desire, like a cat in heat.
No mad men killing for a lock of hair
Nor loss of you and surmounting despair.

For you have barely caught my eye
And yet you linger in my mind.

For now, let’s play this lovers’ game
And if I find your hearts refrain
To be melodious with my chords
Then we shall both reap love’s rewards.
