Cry Poem by Joan Chepkwony

Cry

Rating: 5.0

cry...
tears will not scare me dear
tears cant bring me down
i was once able to dry them
be able to hold you close when sad
to tuck you in whenever you were down
but you never did the same to me
you even could not show little love
i was down on the floor
i begged for your mercy
but a slave i was to you
and today...
today you want me,
to be there for you
to be the shoulder you lean on.
but am walking away
am turning the other way too
i will not be there for you
cos u stabbed, poisoned, cheated
and made me a fool
i have learnt my lesson
and am going far, very far
just like you
like you my love.

The narrative speaks volumes about a relationship that has gone sour for want of mutual understanding. Love heals the wounds of indifference but that indifference to other person's feelings needs to be taken care of by both the parties. The poem ends on a sad and serious note.

Great piece spiced real-life vividness of detail: -)

Sad drop. Can feel the sadness in the lines. Keep inking.

~~A sad poem, Joan, but leaving such a relationship, as painful as it is, is the right choice. Peace

Walking away is the only thing to do. A lovely poem right from the heart.
