Cry Myself To Sleep (2003) Poem by David Joel Rodriguez

Cry Myself To Sleep (2003)

Rating: 2.0

Yes, just like any other night,
visions of a lonely rage.
My mind and my body both begin to fight.
My eyes take all the pain.
The eyes witness slow fatigue.
My eyelids cover my glazed retina.
Suddenly I shiver from cold body heat.
Why can't I be in complete nirvana?
This chemical imbalance I can not beat.
A wet pillow as I face the ceiling;
Toss, turn till my body begins to arrest; tired.
One day I will dispose of this feeling.
The feeling that my eyes will never retire...
