Crying

As I sit here crying, in agony
I can feel the life drain out of me
My heart is an empty hole
The feelings I should have
I'll never know
My love, my life, my soul, my world
He owns them all, even though
I'm not his girl
I look in the dark and always see his face
That is something even time can't erase
I'd rather die than be without him
Why me?

Poem of the Day

poet Christina Georgina Rossetti

Go from me, summer friends, and tarry not:
I am no summer friend, but wintry cold,
A silly sheep benighted from the fold,
A sluggard with a thorn-choked garden plot.
