Crying to Myself
There was a time at night
when my sleep was sound.
When I woke in the morning
I knew you'd be around.
Like a ray of sunshine
you'd brighten up my day.
There was comfort in your presence
and in every word you'd say.
There were times when I felt troubled
you'd put a smile back on my face.
Now there's no way to reach out for you
and feel your warm embrace.
When my world was crashing down
you were my soft, safe place to land.
You are no longer here for me.
All alone I stand.
My heart is crying out for you
but you don't seem to hear.
So I'll cry all by myself,
then wipe away the tear
