Cupids Trumpeteer Poem by Blaine Strong

Cupids Trumpeteer

Rating: 4.5

Maybe I'm a trumpets blast
Baby I'm gonna make it last
Standing cold and shivering
Loves warm touch left us quivering
Your voice cuts fast like flawless diamonds
Ripping my soul at the tattered seam
I woke from a dream without you
Love lacking like a withered desert lake
Still I feel for you, leaves to rake
Left me blind and alone
Lost and shoeless
I've no home anymore
At least until my fingers
Run the caverns of your hair
We both knew love
The things hiding there

Enjoyed the poem. You are missing a few apostrophes in the first few lines: Maybe I'm a trumpets blast Baby I'm gonna make it last Standing cold and shivering Loves warm touch left us quivering Should be: Maybe I'm a trumpet's blast Baby I'm gonna make it last Standing cold and shivering Love's warm touch left us quivering Also in the title: Cupids Trumpeteer should be: Cupid's Trumpeter Sorry. I can't help it. I used to be an English teacher!
