Curiosity Is My Mistress

you tantalizing mistress
beckoning me into the beyond
you tempting little creature
stringing me along

you exiting little woman
promising fun, discovery, zest
you thrilling little morsel
immersing me within your test

you fickle little siren
fingers pulling me along
you bubbly little heathen
leading me into the dawn

delicious invigorating maiden
may you never leave
gripping untamed harlequin
in you I shall believe

Poet's Notes about The Poem

poet Rupert Brooke

If I should die, think only this of me:
