Cutting Poem by Fernando Alvarez

Cutting

Rating: 2.6

Turn the clock back.
Time after time.
Upside down icicles drip.
Turn my life inside out.
I killed that inner sanctum.
Letting it drip, drip, drip
Into the moore.
The moon, crescent and clear.
The stars dancing across the sky.
The clear dark night.
Awakened to a dream,
Falling into the abyss.
My soul trapped in time.
Tick tock, tock, tock.
Silence.
The clock's pendulum stopped.
Stopped, died and fell.
Falling, falling, falling.
Catch me if you can.
But death caught me in his arms.
I screamed, fought, clawed for my life.
Death crooked his long, bony finger at me.
Die, die, die.
I cried.
My tears fell to earth.
Overflowing with remorse.
Vanishing.
My tears were blood.
The blood from my legs.
I came to,
With blood on my hand.
