Cycling Downward Poem by Jennifer Rose

Cycling Downward

Sinking slowly, pressure building
Hands reaching, lungs collapsing
Everything is disappearing from sight
It wasn't my fault
I just wanted more
To feel, to love, to be loved
Am I forbidden from it all?
My heart was set in on place
Then the rug was ripped
Right out from under me
Am I banned from life?
Born
Grow up
Work
Die
my cycle seems to be set

a very apt pronunciation on the vagaries of modern a job-city combo.... because that is what decides...what and how we shall be, it dictates and decides our very existence... lovely... liked it ***
