Daddy Misses You: A Letter To My Unborn Child

Rating: 5.0

Daddy misses you
Even though I never saw you born.
Never got to name you or carry you in my arms.

Daddy misses you
You see, we weren't ready for such a change-
Mentally we weren't ready, let alone out age.

We just wanted what was best, and now wasn't suited for you
So we sadly laid you to rest...
A childish answer to such a grown up question
Never thought that I would ever mention

That daddy misses you.
Remembering the times I rubbed her belly..knowing you were inside
But as much as I tried I couldn't hide the joy of having a baby boy.

'You know we can't keep it Jay' but please-don't ever blame your mother for what was said
-cause in the end I sadly agreed.
You see we never planned it to be this way, mommy and me-but I've learned some things just aren't meant to be..

How do I explain to my first born that technically they weren't the first...that they once had an older sibling, this is what hurts me, your daddy...
Mommy and me and aren't together anymore, and this may be for the best-we thought we were grown but we both failed the test....

Never would I know what color your eyes would be
Never get to hold you close or tend to your needs..
..daddy misses you..

Its an on going struggle my child, but even now I love you...
Me and mommy made the biggest mistake by taking you away
Daddy misses you
