Daddy's Lullaby Tears Poem by amanda de la cuz

Daddy's Lullaby Tears

Daddy sings her a lullaby;
The last one tonight
She peeks up at daddy
With her gaping blue eyes;
Her perfect little eyelashes fluttering
Like the wings of a butterfly.
Hearing daddy’s sweet voice,
Her round angelic face
Breaks out a delicate smile,
For the dimple of her daddy flashes
In her soft rosy cheek for a while;
Daddy whispers a lullaby in her ear
“You’re my sunshine,
When skies turn gray
You’re my hope
When my life fades away;
You’re my little princess
No matter how old you get,
And when you’re in that beautiful white wedding dress
With baby’s breath
Entwined in your long auburn curls
Always remember
You are daddy’s little girl”
Suddenly rain begins to fall from the calm night’s sky
And tears start falling from those bright angel eyes.
Daddy hears the Heavens calling his name;
It is time to say our good-byes
He gently whispers in her velvet ear
“Daddy has to fly with the angels now
But I will be watching you my precious from above;
Wipe away your lullaby tears,
And never forget daddy’s love...
Good-bye my little one”
