Dance Poem by nicole Davis

Dance

Rating: 3.5

Poems on the wall
One starts to fall
away from all the rest
But this one was the best

It falls on the ground
And the fan blows it around
Until it hits the fire
This poem is what she desires

It goes up in flames
And her life goes down the drain
Because of this one guy
Who always made her cry

Herself to sleep at night
Thinking of what the real world was like
When he comes around
Another poem hits the ground

Until there’s only one
When he finds out his game is done
Because he just found out
What her life was about

Now he stands in front of the last poem
That is what has shown him
He reads the words she wrote
He gets the chills and grabs his coat

He finally sits down
Until she comes around
She sees his sorry eyes
And then he starts to cry

She walks over to him
Tells him he will never win
The battle of love
If all you do is shove

He garbs her by the waste
And then looks her in the face
“I’m sorry for what I’ve done
Now I know I was a bum,
Please give me a second chance
So I can show you how to dance.”
