Dance The Dance Poem by samuel faye

Dance The Dance

Daily tedium of wants and needs unending
More and more is all thats asked.
No notice that I'm drowning
Ever pressing, desires to feed

Relief comes with promises.
It's refreshing, quenches my thirst.
Onsetting apathty, distrust
soon overwhelms

I've heard this song
Danced this dance
The rhythm is so familiar
Waiting for the melody to change.

A hummingbird is drawn to nectar
Care and love drews me in.
But as I lay in sweetness,
That wretched dance, that familar stench
A desperate need for flight
