Dancer In The Rain Poem by Gabe Florsheim

Dancer In The Rain

Rating: 2.7

Why’d it happen yesterday?
You fly away into the night.
There’s no reason left to stay here,
But you’re still dancing in the light.

I’m tormented by the way
You can dance into the wind.
We weren’t meant to dance together,
You have to leave what’s kept me in.

Guess we need to learn to change.
You didn’t have to walk away.
Why’d it happen yesterday?
Why’d you take my heart away?

I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain
But to you it’s all the same.
I’ve felt love and I’ve felt pain
I guess we need to learn to change.

Left alone out on my doorstep
Looking up into the stars,
I see the truth behind the shining
And sang it out with my guitar.

Each light up in the sky there
Is just a tear of heartfelt pain.
I’m a whisper in this riot
Just a teardropp in the rain.

I see you twirling and spinning and swhirling
I see you dancing and singing out loud
I see the world in the eyes of the girl
Who can make all the tears in the sky dropp from clouds.

You saw me crying you left me I’m dying
You saw me broken with blood on the ground
You saw me bleeding, I’m pleading, I need you
Now more than ever I need you right now.

Just a dancer in the rain,
Just a tear from yesterday
Guess we’ve gone our separate ways,
Should I be happy or O.K.?

I will find someone someday,
Maybe never like this way
Like the clouds that never fade
You’re my dancer in the rain
