Dancing With Time Poem by RIC BASTASA

sooner you learn to dance
with time
its steps harder at first to follow
but it has always a way of
making you feel at home
with its familiar
music
its songs like the winds
from the mountains
its tapping steps very much
attuned to the sound
of the rain

and then when you completely
learn by heart
its way of changing the way
you look at life
and give up the past and
take in the excitement of
your future

and having believed in your
talent now
without your knowing it
time leaves you

and you experience finally
the extreme pleasure
of the stillness of silence.
