People generally don't like the darker things I write either - they make the mistake of thinking that that art must always be imitating life. I say to hell with what people want you to write, unless of course you want to produce a whole bunch of hollow poems that your heart was never in. Write what feels right, and let people take it how they want to. I like your poems because they have an honesty about them - there's plenty of greeting cards out there for me to read if I decide that I prefer contrived sentiment!
Abbey, I have just read all your poems and hope that you will talk to someone who will give you some help. Your biography said you want to write poems that will 'inspire.' You must know that these dark poems do not inspire. I hope you can move past whatever is keeping you so low and then write poems of hope.
