Darkness Poem by Aimee Brimson

Darkness

There's darkness all around
There's silence in the night
Walking down the middle of the road, cold and hungry
Haven't properly ate for weeks now, feeling empty inside.
No longer able to cope anymore
She's not fulfilling her dreams
But instead she's falling apart.
Now wishing she could go back to how it used to be,
She knows it won't happen but tries to believe.
Scared of people touching her, she pretends it's not a problem.
Now turning to the razor and tearing her wonderful soul apart.
For every line she makes, there's a scream of terror
And she's hoping it's the best way through.
When at school, she is anxious
And the teachers and TA's can see it too.
When getting a compliment it's not always taken
She struggles to expect the fact of doing something good,
Because she's falling apart
Still turning to the razor and still tearing her soul apart,
Her darkness is still darkness
And her silent nights and still silent
She's falling apart.
