Darkness Poem by Night Angel

The Darkness follows me day and night
It is the shadow behind me
I can run but it is always right there
Still connected if only by a little bit
It haunts me like a ghost
Never really leaving, only hiding
So I run and run
Trying to escape
But I never succeed
So I must go on with life
Acting as if everything is perfect
Until it turns up again
It's like a scab
You pick at it and it leaves
But then the blood comes
To remind you of the pain, the past
Then it comes back
Just the same
Like nothing ever happened
And only you remember what happened
So you go on acting fine
When you know you need help
Then someone says your life is perfect
And you think if only it was close
So you get angry
And want to tell them the truth
But you know you can't
They won't be able to handle the truth
Your even unable to handle it
As it makes you more and more depressed
You know you need serious help
But you don't know who to ask
Who to tell
So you keep it to yourself
Bottling it up inside
But then again
You know what happens when you do that
It must come out sometime
And if you can't control it
It will haunt you and eventually
SHUT YOU DOWN
For it eats you up slowly
