Darkness Poem by Matthew Edan Oliver Palma

Darkness

I cover myself in darkness
I clothe myself in sin
With every impure thought
I act out my chilled revenge

Ignoring the light within me
Drowning it in stride
Hoping I could finally quench
This grief that imprisons me

Until I feel I’ve paid my due
For shamefully losing you
Until I think enough is enough
This gloom shall never stop

I cover myself in falsehood
Fool myself and wade in pain
For tomorrow can’t be tomorrow
Until you’re in my arms again..
