Darkness Was Chosen

Know this…

All darkness is caused—
For light is always present.

It is perhaps

The shadows
Of thy past that darken thy memories,
Or, that the clouds of thy heart
Darken thy soul,

Nonetheless,

All of that darkness was caused,
For it was My light
That shined in you first,
And, your darkness in the end,

Was chosen.

Some people say that darkness is the absense of light, yet I believe that is the absense of hope. I also know that some lights are so bright that the only comprehension is dark for the mind cannot understand what it sees. This could easily be one of my favorite poems. Amy
