Darling tell me, oh why do they dread?
Why do others wish for their lives to be dead?
Why can’t they see everything they could be?
Why can’t they look for something like you and me?

Darling tell me, oh why do we fear?
Why do others live with death so near?
Why can’t they find courage in all that they do?
Why can’t they find inspiration like me and you?

Darling tell me, oh why do we surrender?
Why do others choose to not live in splendor?
Why can’t they fight to live, to be free?
Why can’t they live like you and me?

Darling tell me, oh why do they hate?
Why do others choose not to think straight?
Why can’t they find love? If only they knew,
I stole it away, the love of the world,
When I found you.
