Daughter Poem by Teresa Reuter

Daughter

Her smile brightens the darkest of days
blue eyes shining like the sun's rays.

Her golden locks bouncing around her head
dancing and dancing till her face turns red.

Her energy surpasses that of the stars
as she dreams of flying straight on to Mars.

Her curiosity drives all her friends to seek
the best path to climb the highest mountain peak.

Her kindness overflows to all that she greets
like handing out candy and other tasty treats.

Her love flows so freely that it's hard to ignore
it pours from her soul and then pours some more.

Her intelligence surpasses the normal charts
it is kind of scary the amount of her smarts.

Her talents have no limits in music and arts
the beauty will steal so many hearts.

Her innocent kisses upon a cheek
bring joyful tears and make knees weak.

Her beauty is driven from deep inside
facing her fears and not willing to hide.

The challenges that face her will shrink with fear
for she faces each one with strength and cheer.

This is my daughter whom I love so much
for she brings great happiness with a simple touch.
