David Bruce Poem by Deborah J Richard

David Bruce

Once a family of five
Now reduced to four
A brother dearly loved
But, seen no more

A long, long struggle
A journey of pain
This loved brother's leaving
Had much to gain

A faith that was constant
Never dwindled to die
The promise of forever
No reason to cry

Surrounded by loved ones
He gave to their care
And rested so peacefully
His soul was laid bare

In the stillness and quiet
Our Lord came to bless
And wrap him in comfort
Eternal love, no less

We think of him tenderly
Unlike any other
And give thanks for his life
Son, husband, father, friend, brother
