Davina's 30th Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Davina's 30th

Yawning my head off, sitting in my chair,
Glad I made the effort, glad I was there.
Where did I go to make me so tired?
To be with my stepdaughter, was her desire.
Today was her 30th Birthday, you see,
And she wanted the Family to come to tea.

A memorable occasion it was for her,
This year she was near, last year afar.
For then she was in Ghana, teaching again,
At the school she had been to before.

Opening her presents, enjoying her tea,
With Family around her was pleasing to see.
Where will we be next year?
Will we be alive and well?
All be together? ~~ We never can tell.
Wishes for a happy year, full of good health,
A better time ahead, with plenty of wealth.
