Dawn Waking Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Dawn Waking

In the Dawn
Waking
The grasses
Stirring

The hill
Freezing
In the light
Not of stars
Lighting.

The scene has
Changed.
A New Act begins.
The play continues.

I get the situation in this poem. You have awakened so early the day has not yet started - All the other actors and actresses are still asleep, dreaming of yesterday, getting confused glimpses of tomorrow in their last dreams. But until they awake, the New Act is just an empty set. Why, look! there's not even an audience yet. Just a few sleepy members of the theater's night crew, and they're not saying a word. In maybe two more hours DAWN WAKING will become MORNING ALREADY - and the dramas will begin....
