Dawning Poem by Rob Knetsch

Dawning

Rating: 5.0

woke up in the mud
with weak limbs crawling
toward the water
too dirty to drink from

leaves and stems
everywhere but not
suitable for chewing
nothing to swallow

tried to stand up
but clouds push down
hands cannot move
until the eyes are open

Opening the eyes only one can climb in water or sky. Very wise lines are drafted and shared.10
