Day Break Poem by Nnamdi LupeNwahara

Day Break

Peel of the night
The crack of dawn
Beyond the hills of might
A distinct line over the heavens drawn,
A shaft of light
The petals longed to capture
A cheek a' bright
The sun in full sight ruptures
Poised as if with a snare
A warm breeze hangs heavy in the air,
Break of day
As the shadows vestige disappear
Shades of gray
Worn over the heavens as a suit of lace
Now parade beams serene
To blush the flowers and green-lush keen,
Fog hangs in the sky as haze
Like the scattering of maize
In a season of few
To be swept away by the sun's fiercely blaze
To cause-to-fear, our fears
And off-cheeks-tear, our tears
It takes the pew
To seize her dwelling of praise,
The deep azure hue
Dangling on strings; rays
Now in full view
Blissfully, earthbound, race
Caress the flora dressed in dew
Darkness left without a place
Dies away leaving no trace
No, nothing in its wake,
To embrace now a day anew.
