Day One Poem by Justin Tallman

Day One

The days are numbers
pointless calculations
twenty four hours a day
seven days a week
thirty days a month
(usually)
twelve months a year
all adding up
to three hundred sixty five days
and here you are
on some pointless hour
wondering if the sum of all
the time you spent 'til now
ever mattered
from day one
