Day Two Poem by Eoin Smith

Day Two

Today is the day.
The day that my tormentors
Drag me through a valley of souls.
Tears of rage and fear
Blind my eyes as I struggle through the
Bleak nothingness which envelops me.

I crawl forward,
My body reluctantly pushes onward.
Is this life?

You keep me moving forwards.
Thoughts; memories; feelings.
You are the sole candle
Standing silent vigil in the darkness.
You are the light at the end of my tunnel:
A sweet release from my pain.
