Daydream Poem by Elizabeth Grace

Daydream

You are my light,
you are my salvation, and
my soul shines through your smile.
I hold you in my memory,
if only for a while.
A few moments of stolen solace,
a place of peace
where I am blanketed
in the velvet of your voice
and your smooth satin skin
caresses the roughness of my
rocky past.
There is no name
for the peace in each breath,
knowing that you know me
and that you hold me still.
My heart is whole
through your healing hands
and I wish you were more
than a dream.
