Dead Ends Poem by MOHAMMAD SKATI

Dead Ends

Cloudy skies, but Without rains, Green fields, but Without spikes of grain, Blue seas, but They are mad, High mountains, but They are bald, Pretty books, but No readers, Pretty songs, but No lovely singers, Busy streets, but Pockets are empty, Tunnels of darkness Go longer and longer, Life is cruel, but It goes on, Grains of sand rule Empty deserts, Water levels rise, but Nobody cares, Care prevails everywhere And nobody cares, There are many tsunamis, but Nobody notices, Poverty beats everything Around, Health is not so well, so Death reaps its merits, I see only passing clouds, but But no rains, Life goes on, Things pile up In front of life, then Life goes on.
