Dead Old Men

I try to read your words
you dead old men
I try to read them all
and take them in
and let them eat my soul and the buzzing of life around me
you dead old men

I’ve seen the way they remembered you
first hand and wonder
if my life will get so little attention
in so many places
will someone feel my strains
when there’s nothing left of me
but dirt

I might have
missed the snippet when you left us
but now I know the heart that beat
there in your chest

fantasy
to pretend to know you from what you made
anymore than you might know me
from this sad reach at saying something real

fantasy
to pretend someday they might throw
my name in
among the dead old men

How dark, you're style seems pretty complex. The poem suits a very hateful person. It's quite fascinating anyway.
