dead on my knees
i feel no happiness,
just sorrow and hate,
i feel sad and lonely

dead on my knees
i cry out with mercy,
hoping to see a light
in the future for myself

dead on my knees
i feel so scared,
nobody is there to comfort me
no one at all

all i see is black,
complete darkness
fills my heart,
as it pumps steady in my chest

dead on my knees,
throbbing with pain
i sit here alone,
without you

am i alive?
is this a dream?
i hope it is just a dream,
trying to pull me
into its squeezing grasp

i try to wake up
but i can't,
your not here
alone i sit,
