Dead Or Alive Poem by Windsor Guadalupe Jr

Dead Or Alive

Let’s drink
I will awaken the sleeping
Bottles of
Whiskey,
Rum,
Gin and other
Potent deaths trapped
Inside sealed bottles
That held the icicles
Of summer.

So, let’s drink,
To all the drunkards,
To all the broken clocks,
To all the lost men
And abused women,
Let’s drink until
Death evenly trembles
To take us.

Let the infidels die,
Let the liars lie,
Let the warlords vie,
Let the histrionics cry,
Inside this
Revelry of fools,
We are mad men,
Invincible,
Untouchable.
We are all one
In this pursuit
Of divinity.

Let the trespassers sin,
Let the cruel people grin.
Let their boats sink
Into hellfire,
We will never care
We’d never think
Nor stir the oceans.
Let’s drink
Until their dead bodies
Scramble in a mad jealousy.

I raise this glass
To all those
Who jumped out of
Hell’s window just to
Go back again!

Let’s waste away
The youth they have
Granted
For we all die
Old, sullen and decrepit.

But my point is that
We are not drunkards
We are just victors
Who deserve
A drink
Or two.

After this,
We’d be drunken
And immobile
Only to spring
Into another life.

Let’s drink, lad.
Dead or alive.
